Events
Heychel Foundation hosts a variety of events all round the year. Each such event is themed around the subject of a traditional Devi festival of India. These events are hosted in collaboration with Government Departments and local brands and serve an audience that explores more about the rich culture and heritage of our country.
Rachna Utsav
In sync with the theme of Saraswati Puja that is a festival to celebrate wisdom, arts, music and other disciplines of knowledge, this is an annual event of Heychel Foundation that witnesses the coming together of the art and culture fraternity in the city of Bhopal and beyond. The aim of the event is to create an art project that draws global attention to artforms of India. Our first chapter in 2023 created a world record of the longest tribal painting.
Desi Handi Food Fest
A tribute to the goddess of food and nutrition, Devi Annapurna, this is an annual event of Heychel Foundation that celebrates Indian cuisines in all its glory. A food festival that is inclusive towards urban, rural and tribal flavors of Indian cuisine. The event also puts a special spotlight on the importance of Millets that now holds an international recognition under the IYM initiative by the UNFAO. It collaborates with the Millet Mission of Madhya Pradesh to spread awareness to both consumers and business supply chains.
Shakti Utsav
A grand 11 day festival every year on the celebratory days of Navratri, Shakti Utsav is a program by Heychel Foundation dedicated to Women Entrepreneurs, Menstrual Health and Girl Child Education. Every year a theme is undertaken to raise awareness and spread the word of social equality and equal opportunity for women in our country.
Annapurna Haat
A weekly initiative by Heychel Foundation for women runni food and other businesses. It is a platform for them to connect with the masses and network to grow their business. A must do of highlighting home-cooked food, mostly Indian, makes the program a special place to propagate the wonders of healthy and nutritious home cooking.
Khoon Ka Rishta
Every year as a collaborative effort with the Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, Govt of India, the foundation hosts a blood donation camp to observe World Blood Donors Day.This generous activity fuels good health for many little children suffering from the lethal disease of thalassemia and aids them in their regular requirement for blood transfusion.
Bleed Like A Devi
This is an all year running initiative to collect and distribute menstrual hygiene products to women in need. The program is partnered by government health organisations, doctors, influencers and other local NGOs and hosts workshops and lectures to educate women and young girls in schools and backward areas to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene.
